Hossam Tolan: Mustafa Shobeir Best Choice for Egypt’s Goalkeeper

Hossam Tolan, a former star of Zamalek, praised the skills and experience of Mohamed Hani, the right-back for Al Ahly and the Egyptian national team, ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Egyptian national team is gearing up for its participation in the World Cup, which will take place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Egypt finds itself in Group G alongside Belgium, New Zealand, and Iran.

Tolan stated that while Hani possesses significant experience and capabilities to stop any player, he will require support from both the winger playing opposite him and the midfielder or defender alongside him during upcoming matches against Brazil and Belgium.

He further asserted that Egypt will finish second in their group, predicting that Belgium will top Group G.

Regarding the goalkeeping position, Tolan declared that Mustafa Shobeir is the best option to guard Egypt’s net, emphasizing his readiness to lead the Pharaohs in the World Cup.
