Media personality Khaled El-Ghandour reported that the coaching staff of the Egyptian national team, led by Hossam Hassan, has devised a special plan to utilize Mohamed Salah, the captain of the “Pharaohs,” ahead of their upcoming match against New Zealand in the second round of the 2026 World Cup.

During his program “Stadium Al-Mohar”, El-Ghandour explained that the coaching staff has granted Salah the freedom to move around the pitch without being restricted to a specific position. This strategy allows him to exploit various attacking areas, whether through the center or on the wings, to disrupt the opponent’s defense and create space for his teammates.

He added that the team’s plan heavily relies on leveraging Salah’s speed during counter-attacks, as well as his role in applying high pressure from midfield, making him one of the key offensive assets for the squad.

Furthermore, the coaching staff views Salah as a crucial element for achieving victory, especially with expectations placed on him to create opportunities and transform attacks at any moment during the match.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 4:00 AM Cairo and Mecca time on Monday, marking an important encounter eagerly anticipated by Egyptian football fans.

The Egyptian team enters this match with high aspirations to secure their first win in this edition of the World Cup, aiming to enhance their chances of competing for a qualification spot ahead of the decisive third round in the group stage.
