Austrian Foreign Minister Praises Egypt’s Role in Regional Stability
Dr. Badr Abdel Atti, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, held a phone call with Austria’s Foreign Minister, Beata Meinl-Reisinger, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries and exchange views on various regional issues of mutual interest.
During the call, Minister Abdel Atti emphasized the importance of continuing joint efforts to strengthen cooperation in various fields, particularly economic, trade, and investment, within the framework of the political consultation mechanism established in Cairo in June 2025.
He also congratulated his Austrian counterpart on Austria’s election to a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for the term 2027–2028. He expressed eagerness to enhance coordination and consultation with Austria during its council membership to support international peace and security.
The conversation included an exchange of insights regarding recent developments in the region. Minister Abdel Atti highlighted Egypt’s intensive communications and efforts to support the U.S.-Iranian negotiation process, showcasing Egypt’s commitment to working with regional and international partners to contain tensions and promote de-escalation initiatives.
In response, Austria’s Foreign Minister praised Egypt’s constructive role in coordinating with regional and international partners to reduce escalation and enhance regional stability.
Both ministers agreed to continue their joint work to strengthen bilateral relations and intensify coordination on various international and regional issues, reaffirming that diplomatic solutions remain the optimal choice for achieving security and stability in the region.
