Mido Warns of Legal Crisis at Zamalek Following Player Contract Terminations
Ahead of a critical period for Zamalek SC, former player Ahmed Hossam Mido expressed concerns over the club’s ongoing crises, revealing that certain officials have entrusted all matters—both sporting and legal—to John Edward.
During his program “Here is the World Cup,” Mido highlighted that Zamalek is facing a significant legal crisis. He emphasized that the club’s supporters deserve greater transparency in how the team addresses its current challenges.
Mido described the termination of contracts for four players as a “football crime,” insisting on the need for a more professional approach to these issues to ensure the club’s stability.
A source within Zamalek disclosed the reason behind the club facing its 17th registration ban imposed by FIFA on Wednesday. This latest suspension adds to a growing list of legal troubles for the club.
FIFA recently announced another registration ban for Zamalek, bringing the total number of lawsuits against the club to 17. The source revealed to “Al-Aweek” that this latest restriction stems from unpaid dues owed to former assistant coach Yannick Ferreira, totaling $60,000.
