Egypt and Lebanon Discuss Enhancing Cooperation in Employment and Labor Sectors
During the ongoing 114th International Labour Conference in Geneva, Egyptian Minister of Labor Hassan Raddad met with his Lebanese counterpart, Dr. Mohamed Haidar. This meeting aimed to strengthen bilateral cooperation and coordination between the two nations in various employment and labor areas.
The ministers emphasized the deep-rooted historical and brotherly ties between Egypt and Lebanon, highlighting their leadership’s commitment to enhancing mutual cooperation for the benefit of both nations’ citizens.
They discussed ways to improve coordination regarding labor mobility between the two countries, focusing on regularizing the status of workers within a specified timeframe. This approach aims to ensure worker protection and maximize available employment opportunities. Additionally, they explored mechanisms to expedite the implementation of an electronic linkage plan between their respective labor ministries to facilitate data exchange and streamline labor market-related procedures.
Furthermore, both sides addressed enhancing collaboration in vocational training and human resource development. Minister Raddad presented Egypt’s experience in training for employment, detailing the Ministry’s efforts to enhance its vocational training system to align with labor market needs.



The Lebanese Minister praised Egypt’s advancements in this sector, particularly the role of vocational training centers, including mobile training units that reach target groups and offer specialized training programs tailored to local labor market demands.
The ministers agreed to maintain communication and coordination moving forward, working towards translating their discussions into actionable steps that will enhance joint cooperation, support development efforts, and create job opportunities in both countries.
