Cairo Airport Achieves Record 2.2 Million Passengers in One Month

Cairo International Airport continues to show positive trends in passenger and flight operations, having welcomed and departed over 2.2 million travelers in May 2026.

The total number of passengers for the month reached 2,225,405, with a total of 17,480 flights recorded. The airport saw 1,060,831 departing passengers on 8,778 flights, while 1,164,574 arrived from abroad on 8,702 flights.

Magdy Ishaq, Chairman of Cairo Airport Authority, stated that the ongoing development and modernization plans at Cairo International Airport are essential to keep pace with the increasing growth in air traffic and to enhance its ability to provide a comprehensive travel experience befitting Egypt’s regional and international status.
