Applications Open for the 2026 Ideal Father Competition
The Ministry of Social Solidarity has announced the opening of applications for the Ideal Father Competition for the year 2026. This initiative aims to support the values of the Egyptian family and highlight inspiring examples of fathers who have demonstrated exceptional commitment and responsibility.
Applications will be accepted until Monday, June 15, 2026, at the Social Solidarity Directorates across all governorates of Egypt.
The competition will select and honor 16 exemplary fathers representing inspiring models in child-rearing and family support. This includes ten biological fathers, two fathers with children who have disabilities who have made extraordinary efforts in nurturing and integrating their children into society while excelling in sports or arts and sciences, two foster fathers caring for children not biologically their own through sponsorship from care homes, and two fathers of martyrs from the armed forces and Ministry of Interior. Additionally, several community figures who have played a significant role in preserving the integrity of the Egyptian family will also be honored.
All nominations that meet the eligibility criteria will be reviewed by a local committee within each directorate to select winners who will be forwarded to a central committee formed by ministry leaders and partner organizations concerned with family welfare. It is important to note that incomplete applications or those submitted after the deadline on June 15, 2026, will not be accepted.
The launch of the Ideal Father Initiative coincides with celebrations of positive parenting and Father’s Day, which is observed in many Arab countries on June 21 each year. This initiative is part of the ministry’s ongoing programs and initiatives aimed at supporting family structure and reinforcing the father’s role within Egyptian families, focusing on recognizing successful positive models.
