Real Madrid Responds to Enrique Riquelme’s Election Remarks
Real Madrid has issued an official statement addressing comments made by Enrique Riquelme, a candidate challenging Florentino Pérez in the upcoming presidential elections for the club.
Riquelme is the only candidate who accepted Pérez’s invitation to hold an urgent presidential election.
In its statement, Real Madrid said: “In response to the statements made by candidate Enrique Riquelme, who claimed that only one candidate has access to the club’s member list, along with doubts and mistrust expressed regarding the handling of mail-in votes, the electoral committee clarifies the following:.
The statement continued: “The electoral committee has not provided the member list to any of the candidates participating in the elections scheduled for June 7.”.
Furthermore, it added: “The electoral committee has informed both candidates in writing about the procedures for sending information, documents, and materials to club members. Candidate Enrique Riquelme was personally briefed on these procedures on the day he submitted his candidacy.”.
The statement emphasized: “These procedures are outlined in the regulations governing the electoral process (Article 2 of Section on Member Lists), which have been published for this purpose. The rules stipulate that candidates must submit to the electoral committee any information, documents, and materials they wish to send to members, while the club will handle distribution.”.
Finally, it stressed: “The electoral committee set Monday, June 1 at 6 PM as the deadline for receiving any information, documents, and materials that each candidate wishes to send to members.”.
