Barcelona’s Surprising Stance on Koundé Ahead of New Season
Reports emerged on Tuesday revealing a surprising development regarding the future of French defender Jules Koundé at FC Barcelona as the club prepares for the upcoming season.
The Catalan club, under the guidance of German coach Hans Flick, is currently evaluating its first-team roster to make necessary adjustments.
According to Spanish newspaper ‘Sport’, Barcelona’s management has reassessed Koundé’s performance, particularly after his disappointing showing last season, and is open to his departure in the near future.
Additionally, sporting director Deco is reportedly holding meetings with representatives of several right-back candidates, including Dutch player Denzel Dumfries and Spanish defender Marc Cucurella, as part of the club’s strategy to strengthen this position.
It’s worth noting that Barcelona secured the La Liga title for the second consecutive year after a fierce competition with their traditional rivals, Real Madrid.
