Minister Jumblatt Highlights Production Capacity Increase as Key to Economic Support
Minister Jumblatt’s Visit.
In a continued effort to monitor the operations of companies and units under the Ministry of Military Production, Dr. Engineer Salah Suleiman Jumblatt, Minister of State for Military Production, conducted an unannounced inspection tour at Abu Zaabal Chemical Industries (Factory 18). The visit aimed to oversee production processes and assess the implementation of development and modernization plans at the facility, following his previous tour in Upper Egypt to review projects under the presidential initiative “Decent Life.”.
The minister began his visit by examining several work sites and production lines. He reviewed the current status of ongoing projects within the company and listened to a presentation regarding performance indicators and strategies for enhancing production efficiency while maximizing available resources.
Dr. Jumblatt emphasized that the Ministry of Military Production is operating under directives from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The aim is to localize modern technology, deepen local manufacturing, and enhance national industrial capabilities, contributing to national economic support and achieving sustainable development goals as part of Egypt’s Vision 2030. This initiative also aims to meet the needs of various entities while reducing reliance on imports and increasing the competitiveness of Egyptian products.
The minister added that the ministry continues to implement a comprehensive strategy aimed at developing its affiliated companies, enhancing their operational and production efficiencies, and maximizing the benefits from available assets. This aligns with the state’s goal of bolstering national industry and increasing its contribution to the national economy.
During his tour, Jumblatt inspected a vital production line at the factory that had been previously halted. It has now been restarted as part of an integrated plan aimed at increasing production rates, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing product quality. He stressed the importance of adhering to development timelines and achieving planned production targets.
Notably, the restart of this line was accomplished entirely by the company’s skilled personnel without any foreign expertise involved. This exemplifies the expertise and technical competencies possessed by employees in the military production sector, capable of executing development plans efficiently, reflecting the state’s strategy in localizing technology and building national capacities for managing, operating, and developing strategic industries.
The Minister also highlighted that there is significant attention being given to enhancing manufacturing capabilities within affiliated companies by updating their production lines. This enables them to play a crucial role in supporting national economic efforts while actively participating in implementing national development projects. He emphasized that continuous field monitoring helps identify real challenges and overcome any obstacles that may impact production processes.
Jumblatt urged adherence to high standards of quality, safety, and occupational health while expanding training programs aimed at improving human resource efficiency—considered essential for achieving sustainable development goals through increased productivity and enhanced competitiveness among affiliated companies.
Concluding his visit, Minister Jumblatt commended the exceptional efforts made by company employees and acknowledged tangible results achieved in implementing development plans aimed at boosting production capacities. He reaffirmed continued support from the ministry for all projects contributing to enhancing national industrial capabilities while maximizing benefits from available resources to achieve comprehensive development strategy objectives.
