Jordan Prepares for World Cup Clash Against Algeria

The Jordanian national team is ramping up its technical and physical preparations for their upcoming match against Algeria, scheduled for Tuesday, June 23, at the San Francisco Bay Arena in the United States. This encounter will be part of the second round of group stage matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

On Friday, June 19, the team conducted a training session at Portland University under the guidance of head coach Jamal Salami, with all players participating and media present to cover the team’s preparations ahead of this crucial match.

The Jordanian delegation is set to depart for San Francisco on Saturday, where a press conference for the match will take place on Sunday at 2:30 PM local time in the press conference hall of the stadium. Following this, the team will hold an official training session at San Jose Park at 8 PM, which will also be open to media coverage.

The squad representing Jordan in the World Cup consists of 26 players: Yazid Abu Leila, Abdullah Al-Fakhouri, Nour Bani Attiah, Abdullah Naseeb, Saad Al-Rousan, Yazan Al-Arab, Salim Obeid, Mohamed Abu Al-Nadi, Hossam Abu Dhahab, Ihsan Haddad, Anas Badawi, Muhannad Abu Taha, Mohamed Abu Hashish, Mohamed Abu Ghosh, Nour Al-Rawabteh, Nizar Al-Rashdan, Ibrahim Saada, Rajai Aaid, Amer Jamous, Mohamed Al-Dawood, Mahmoud Mardhi, Awda Al-Fakhouri, Moussa Al-Tamari, Mohamed Abu Zreik, Ali Azayzaa, and Ali Allwan.

Jordan is placed in Group 10 alongside Argentina and Austria. They began their campaign with a loss to Austria by a score of 3-1 while Argentina triumphed over Algeria with a decisive three-goal victory.

The national team will conclude its group stage matches with a challenging encounter against Argentina on Sunday morning, June 28 at Dallas Stadium as they aim to complete their first World Cup journey in 2026.
