Galarza scored an early goal against Turkey just 65 seconds into the match.
Previously, Sabari had set the record by scoring for Morocco against Scotland after only 71 seconds of play, making him the fastest scorer in this edition of the tournament—until Galarza surpassed him later.
Despite losing the title of fastest goal in the tournament, Sabari still maintains the record for the fastest goal by an Arab player in World Cup history, surpassing the previous record held by his compatriot Hakim Ziyech, who scored against Canada in the 2022 edition.
Sabari’s goal came from a brilliant pass by Ibrahim Díaz inside the penalty area, which he struck powerfully into the net. In contrast, Galarza found the back of the net with a strong ground shot from outside the box that settled into Turkey’s goal.
