The second session of the “Start 2026” summit, part of the Social Solidarity Units project titled “How to Start a Business,” featured insights from Dr. Mohamed Hesham Khidr, an expert in management, governance, partnerships, entrepreneurship, and investment.
Dr. Khidr emphasized that the true value of each individual lies in their ability to master a specialty professionally, asserting that the success of any project begins with building genuine expertise in the targeted field.
He noted that a significant percentage of emerging projects fail due to neglecting the fundamental principles of planning and execution. He stressed the importance for youth to possess a unique skill or specialization, as this is one of the critical factors that opens doors to partnerships and employment opportunities.
He advised young individuals at the start of their careers to learn from successful models in their early stages and not to compare their beginnings with those models’ achievements after years of work and experience, as this can enhance confidence and perseverance.
The discussion also covered the concept of “containers” in entrepreneurship, highlighting the importance of accurately studying the market before embarking on any project.
Dr. Khidr added that the success of any entrepreneurial idea requires aligning the necessary resources for project implementation with those currently available, alongside a commitment to continuous learning.
The “Start 2026” event commenced today at the Grand Egyptian Museum under the patronage of Dr. Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity. The event is executed by the Social Solidarity Units project at universities under the ministry and features extensive participation from partners and sponsors who support and fund the initiative.
The event is expected to attract around 30,000 students from various Egyptian universities, along with over 300 companies from major institutions and the private sector, providing real opportunities for employment, training, and direct interaction between youth and employers.
The event also includes participation from 70 career counselors offering guidance sessions, as well as specialized workshops aimed at preparing youth for the job market. Additionally, approximately 3,000 scholarships for English language studies and skill development will be provided, along with 1,000 scholarships offered by Bank Misr to support efforts in preparing youth to compete in the job market.
