Egypt’s Presidency Commends Trump’s Leadership in Pursuing Peace

The Presidency of Egypt has expressed its appreciation for the signing of a memorandum of understanding between U.S. President iran-agreement-commends-leadership-of-trump-and-beizakian/">Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. The Egyptian government emphasized the significance of this agreement in reducing tensions and preventing further escalation in the region, aiming to restore security and stability in the Middle East.

In a statement, the presidency commended Trump’s leadership and wisdom, highlighting his commitment to achieving peace and resolving disputes through peaceful means. They acknowledged his sincere efforts to reach a consensus on the memorandum.

Egypt also valued Iran’s positive engagement through the signing of the agreement and praised the full coordination with regional partners that led to this satisfactory outcome. The efforts of Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey were recognized as crucial in reaching this memorandum.

The Egyptian government expressed hope that this development would mark a pivotal shift towards a new phase of de-escalation, trust-building, and mutual cooperation. They called for full adherence to the memorandum, both in spirit and text, paving the way for a comprehensive and sustainable agreement that addresses all parties’ concerns while supporting efforts for lasting security and stability in the region.

Moreover, Egypt anticipates that this recent development regarding cessation of hostilities with Iran will foster an environment conducive to addressing various regional conflicts, particularly the Palestinian issue, which is central to Middle Eastern strife. A decisive resolution to this matter is viewed as fundamental to achieving just and comprehensive peace in the region. Egypt reiterated its appreciation for Trump’s dedicated efforts towards establishing a ceasefire in Gaza and hopes that the recently signed memorandum will lead to an end to Israeli aggressions against Lebanon and ensure Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanese territories while respecting Lebanon’s sovereignty.

Egypt expressed optimism about upcoming technical discussions between American and Iranian officials aimed at fostering more comprehensive and sustainable agreements that contribute to regional stability and reduced tensions. The country reaffirmed its readiness to support these discussions effectively.

Furthermore, Egypt reiterated its commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at enhancing regional security and stability while resolving disputes peacefully, consistent with international law principles and the United Nations Charter.
