UAE Referee Team to Officiate Egypt vs. New Zealand Match in 2026 World Cup

The FIFA Referees Committee has announced the appointment of an Emirati officiating team for the upcoming match between Egypt and New Zealand, part of the second round of group stage matches in the 2026 World Cup.

According to a statement from FIFA’s media center, Emirati referee Omar Al Ali will serve as the main referee for the match, assisted by compatriot Mohammed Al Hammadi as the first assistant referee and Qatari Taleb Al Marri as the second assistant referee.

Peruvian Kevin Ortega has been assigned as the fourth official, while Mishkil Oruy will act as the reserve referee within the officiating team.

The match between Egypt and New Zealand falls under Group G, where the Egyptian team aims to secure its first victory in the tournament after drawing 1-1 against Belgium in their opening match.

On the other hand, New Zealand enters this game with a relatively high morale after managing a 2-2 draw against Iran in their first round, keeping their hopes alive for qualification as group matches continue.
