Mamdouh Abbas Reveals Plans for New Stadium and Commercial Complex for Zamalek

Written byFerdous Saeed

Mamdouh Abbas, the honorary president of Zamalek SC, has unveiled exciting developments regarding the future of the club, addressing both construction projects and ongoing financial and administrative challenges.

New Stadium and Shopping Malls

In an interview on the “Modern Sports” program with host Amir Hossam on the “Modern MTI” channel, Abbas announced that a new stadium will be officially constructed for Zamalek at their new site in Sixth of October City, with a substantial investment of $38 million.

Abbas also shared that part of the club’s economic revival plan includes the establishment of two new shopping malls—one at the current headquarters in Mit Akaba and another at the Sheikh Zayed branch. These initiatives aim to enhance financial resources and provide a stable income to support the club’s future stability.

Zamalek’s Transfers

The honorary president indicated that efforts are underway to permanently resolve the registration ban issue, as well as to finalize the African license file. This would ensure Zamalek’s participation in upcoming continental competitions, although he refrained from discussing specific solutions.

Regarding football matters, Abbas clarified that renewing the contract with head coach Moamen Gamal or finalizing new player transfers is outside his purview. He emphasized that these responsibilities fall entirely under the club’s board of directors and sporting director John Edward.

In closing, Mamdouh Abbas delivered a heartfelt message to fans: “My message to Zamalek supporters is that I love you very much. There will be no new crises at the club in the future, and we will all meet your expectations and maintain our standards.”.
