UK Ambassador Highlights Strong Ties with Egypt in Aviation Cooperation
Dr. Sameh Hefni, Egypt’s Minister of Civil Aviation, welcomed Mark Bryson Richardson, the UK Ambassador to Egypt, and his accompanying delegation at the Ministry’s headquarters to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation in civil aviation. The meeting aimed to explore promising opportunities that would elevate the air transport system and enhance its competitiveness.
This meeting aligns with Egypt’s commitment to deepen strategic partnerships with international allies and strengthen cooperation with the United Kingdom in areas of mutual interest.
During the discussion, both parties explored expanding collaboration in investment, technical and technological partnerships, enhancing air connectivity, as well as training and simulation to qualify human resources through cooperation with specialized British companies.
Minister Hefni emphasized that Egyptian-British relations are witnessing significant growth across various levels, supported by the leadership of both nations. He noted that the Ministry of Civil Aviation is keen on broadening partnerships with leading British institutions and companies to enhance technical and operational capabilities while adopting the latest technologies. This aligns with national efforts aimed at building a modern and sustainable civil aviation system that meets international standards.
He further explained that the Ministry is focused on developing training fields, exchanging expertise, attracting quality investments, and utilizing advanced technologies to support comprehensive development plans and improve service efficiency, solidifying Egypt’s position as a regional hub for air transport.
Ambassador Richardson expressed the UK’s pride in its distinguished relationship and ongoing partnership with Egypt. He reaffirmed the UK’s commitment to continue cooperation in civil aviation, which supports travel and economic exchanges between the two countries.
Mark Bryson Richardson also expressed hope for an outstanding Egyptian participation in the upcoming Farnborough International Airshow 2026 scheduled for July. He confirmed British support for participation in the International Air and Space Exhibition set to take place in New Alamein City in September 2026, viewing it as an international platform for exchanging experiences and expanding partnerships that serve mutual interests in the air transport industry.
