Egypt Aims for $100 Billion in Exports by 2030, Says Prime Minister
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Egypt’s Prime Minister, announced that the launch of the Egyptian Foreign Trade Information Portal marks a significant strategic milestone in the country’s efforts to enhance its trade system and support the national economy.
During a press conference on Tuesday to unveil the portal, Madbouly explained that the government is implementing comprehensive structural reforms across various sectors that have not seen adequate development for decades. He emphasized that these initiatives are part of an integrated vision aimed at promoting economic growth.
The Prime Minister stated that the government aims to substantially increase Egyptian exports, targeting approximately $100 billion by 2030. This ambitious goal is expected to help reduce the trade deficit and achieve balance in the trade balance.
He noted that this objective responds to the needs of a growing economy facing rising growth rates while addressing challenges related to trade deficits, which often worsen amid global crises and shocks experienced in recent years.
Madbouly highlighted that the ongoing global challenges have underscored the necessity of advancing towards this strategic goal. He reiterated that persistent economic shocks worldwide necessitate bolstering Egypt’s economic resilience and adaptability.
The Prime Minister affirmed that the government is committed to executing its plans to increase exports and enhance trade balance, ensuring support for the national economy and minimizing vulnerability to external factors.
