Written byFerdous Saeed

Manchester City has reportedly secured a deal with Paris Saint-Germain for the signing of teenage centre-back Hermann Malonga. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the 18-year-old has accepted all terms presented by the Citizens to join their project.

In a related report from Le Parisien, it is indicated that Malonga is expected to sign a five-year contract with Manchester City, who have scouted him multiple times and regard him as a player with ‘very high potential.’.

Initially, Malonga will be integrated into the Manchester City squad, although a loan move is likely in the coming months to facilitate his development.

The young defender has yet to make his first-team debut for PSG but has appeared 31 times for the club’s Under-19 team, including three outings in the UEFA Youth League last season. This move follows the sale of 20-year-old centre-back Jahmai Simpson-Pusey to FC Koln for approximately £4.75 million, while fellow defenders Max Alleyne and Stephen Mfuni are also expected to be loaned out this summer.

Nottingham Forest Intensifies Interest in Frattesi

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest is reportedly renewing its interest in Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi. The club had attempted to secure the Italy international on an initial loan deal with an option to buy back in January, but that transfer did not materialize.

According to Sky Sports in Italy, through Football Italia, Forest officials have met with Inter and Frattesi’s agent to discuss the player’s availability. The midfielder has also drawn attention from Juventus, Napoli, and Roma due to his limited playing time under Inter coach Cristian Chivu last season, where he started just three out of 22 Serie A matches.

Inter is reportedly open to offers for the 26-year-old, who has two years remaining on his contract and is valued at €22 million (£19 million) according to transfermarkt.

Carter Pinnington Set for Permanent Move to West Bromwich Albion

In other news, Liverpool defender Carter Pinnington is poised to finalize a permanent transfer to West Bromwich Albion. As reported by The Athletic, there will be no upfront transfer fee for the 19-year-old; however, performance-related add-ons and a sell-on clause are included in the agreement.

Liverpool maintains a strong relationship with West Brom, as their technical director Dominic Price previously served as a first-team analyst at Anfield. Pinnington has been part of Liverpool’s academy since he was seven years old but has not yet made a senior appearance for the club. He did sit on the substitutes’ bench during an EFL Cup match against Crystal Palace last October.

The 6ft 2in centre-back has represented England at Under-15, Under-16, and Under-18 levels, earning four caps with the latter age group while playing 19 games for Liverpool in Premier League 2 last season. Pinnington will join a West Brom side that narrowly avoided relegation from the Championship last season under new head coach James Morrison.
