Hervé Renard Set to Coach Tunisia After Sabri Lamouchi’s Dismissal

Reports indicate that French coach Hervé Renard, former head of the Saudi national team, is on the verge of taking over as the head coach of Tunisia for the upcoming 2026 World Cup.

According to beIN Sports, the Tunisian Football Federation has decided to dismiss coach Sabri Lamouchi following a heavy defeat to Sweden in their opening match of the tournament.

Tunisia suffered a significant loss against Sweden, with a score of 5-1, in a match held at the Estadio Monterrey in Mexico during the first round of the group stage.

As per reports, the Tunisian Federation has settled on hiring Hervé Renard to lead the team in this critical phase, with an official announcement expected within the next few hours as they seek to revive the fortunes of “Les Aigles de Carthage” in the tournament.

Tunisia is competing in Group F of the 2026 World Cup and has started its campaign with a loss to Sweden. The team will face Japan and the Netherlands in their upcoming matches, in what is considered one of the toughest groups in the tournament.

The 2026 World Cup will be hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19, featuring 48 teams for the first time in history.
