Prime Minister Visits Fifth African Health Exhibition

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Egypt’s Prime Minister, along with Dr. Djuric Makout, the Prime Minister of Serbia, toured the exhibits at the fifth African Health Exhibition, showcasing prominent global and local pharmaceutical and medical device companies.

This visit followed Madbouly’s participation on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in the opening of the fifth edition of the African Health Exhibition and Conference (AFRICA HEALTH EXCON 2026), themed “Health Sovereignty in Africa: Leadership, Resilience, and Self-Reliance.”.

Accompanying the Prime Minister were Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population; Dr. Hossam Satti, Head of the Egyptian Unified Procurement Authority; and Dr. Ali El-Ghamrawy, Head of the Egyptian Drug Authority, along with several other ministers.

The fifth edition of the exhibition and conference is organized by the Egyptian Unified Procurement Authority and is held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi from June 15 to June 18. The event features participation from Dr. Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din, Advisor to the President for Health Affairs, various African health ministers, heads of organizations, members of both houses of parliament, representatives from numerous global health companies, international institutions, global partners, and ambassadors from several nations.

This year’s edition builds on the success of last year’s conference that brought together over 100 countries in healthcare and trade sectors. It showcases extensive participation from various Egyptian health entities as key partners in this event, reflecting a cohesive healthcare system in Egypt and unified efforts to support national and African health development agendas. The exhibition features 387 exhibitors supported by 25 sponsors and 24 international partners.

Participating organizations include the Ministry of Health and Population; Egyptian Unified Procurement Authority; Egyptian Drug Authority; General Authority for Health Accreditation and Regulation; General Authority for Healthcare; Comprehensive Health Insurance Authority; alongside universities and educational hospitals as well as regulatory bodies related to health care.

The Prime Minister also visited several booths from leading national companies at the exhibition such as Egyptian Medical Investments (ECMI), Wadi Al-Nile Benta Company, Arab Company for Pharmaceutical Industries (ACDIMA), Vaccine City & Biotechnology Center, and Techno Wave. Here he observed their advanced manufacturing capabilities in producing medications, vaccines, biopharmaceuticals, infant formulae, ambulance preparation, supply chain development, as well as various partnerships aimed at transferring medical technologies to different African nations.

Additionally, Madbouly inspected booths from major international companies participating this year including Russian and Japanese firms along with GE Healthcare, Philips Healthcare, Siemens Healthineers, and DAF Digital Solutions.

He reviewed cutting-edge innovations in medical imaging technology such as sustainable magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound diagnostics supported by artificial intelligence (AI), operational automation solutions for durable devices including blood banks and dental surgery equipment. Representatives from these global firms expressed their appreciation for strategic cooperation with Egypt and their eagerness to enhance joint investments while transferring advanced medical knowledge and technologies to Africa.
