Egypt has expressed its approval of the agreement reached between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran, considering it a significant development that could restore security and stability at both regional and international levels.

A press statement indicated that Egypt hopes this agreement will mark a pivotal turning point in enhancing mutual trust, establishing new foundations for cooperation, and creating a supportive environment for peace. It also aims to advance diplomatic efforts to address various regional issues, positively impacting the security and stability of the Middle East.

In recent months, Egypt has been actively working—under the directives of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi—through sincere efforts in coordination and cooperation with regional and international partners to reach this point, end the conflict, and open a new chapter that strengthens the region’s security and stability.

Egypt reiterated its steadfast position supporting peaceful solutions and resolving disputes through diplomatic means. It emphasized that settling disagreements through dialogue and negotiation is essential for achieving peace and consolidating stability, in accordance with international law principles and the United Nations Charter. This approach contributes to reducing tensions, resolving conflicts, and creating a more conducive environment for cooperation and development, thereby ensuring security and prosperity for the peoples of the region.

Furthermore, Egypt expressed its hope that ending the conflict will refocus international attention on the dire humanitarian and security situation faced by the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank. It called for swift action to initiate the second phase of former President Donald Trump’s peace plan.
