De Bruyne Excited for World Cup Clash with Mohamed Salah

Kevin De Bruyne, captain of the Belgium national team, shared his enthusiasm for the upcoming match against Egypt in the opening round of the 2026 World Cup, expressing his eagerness to face star player Mohamed Salah once again.

Belgium will kick off its World Cup journey with a match against Egypt in Group G, an encounter that has generated significant fan interest.

In a press statement, De Bruyne remarked, “It will be great to see Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush again at the World Cup, especially since I know them well.”.

He added, “I have been playing against Mohamed Salah for ten years now, and our children attended the same school, so I would meet him from time to time.”.

The Belgian captain highlighted his friendly relationship with the Egyptian star, stating, “Mohamed Salah is a very nice person, and it will be lovely to meet him again.”.
