The Belgian national team will face Egypt on Monday evening at Lumen Field in Seattle, USA, as part of the first round of Group F matches.

De Bruyne stated in an interview with Belgian network DHnet: “The first match is never a formality; it is always challenging, as everyone is filled with excitement.”.

Reflecting on facing Mohamed Salah, he remarked, “It feels somewhat similar to previous years; seeing him again will be fantastic. We attended the same school as kids, and he is a really nice person. We definitely have experience in how to defend against him.”.

He also praised the abilities of teammate Jeremy Doku, saying, “He has become more effective; defending against him for 90 minutes in a one-on-one situation is impossible. He continues to improve regarding when to pass, when to cross, and when to shoot.”.

Regarding Romelu Lukaku, De Bruyne added, “His level is consistently improving. You can clearly see how he gains strength through good training. He has the talent to score goals within just 30 minutes.”.
