Cairo Governor Initiates Replacement of Temporary Meters for Compliance
Cairo Governor Dr. Mostafa El-Beblawy.
Dr. Mostafa El-Beblawy, the Governor of Qena, has announced the commencement of procedures to replace temporary meters with permanent ones for citizens who have completed their reconciliation forms. This initiative will be facilitated through a new service added to the reconciliation system at technological centers across all local units in the governorate.
The governor explained that coordination has taken place with the Licensing and Inspection Administration and the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development to prepare request number “298” within the reconciliation system at technological centers. This request allows individuals with reconciliation completion forms “7” and “8” under Law No. 187 of 2023, and form “10” under Law No. 17 of 2019, to apply for a change from temporary to permanent meters, ensuring that citizens can regularize their status officially.
El-Beblawy further stated that the state has announced unprecedented facilitation measures to expedite the conversion of temporary meters into legal permanent ones. He noted that once inspection procedures are completed by the Licensing Administration, a response will be provided within a week via a letter issued to citizens, enabling them to approach utility companies for meter replacement, thereby enhancing service delivery efficiency.
