Prime Minister Highlights Skills Development for Youth in National Strategy

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister of Egypt, visited the Edku International Park as part of an extensive tour in Beheira Governorate aimed at inspecting various service and development projects.

Accompanying him were Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development and Environment, Dr. Jacqueline Azaar, Governor of Beheira, Dr. Shady El-Mashad, Deputy Governor of Beheira, and several officials.

During his visit, the Prime Minister emphasized that honing the skills of children and youth, discovering their talents, nurturing them, and providing avenues for creativity are at the heart of the state’s strategy to build a capable Egyptian generation that can innovate and actively participate in comprehensive development efforts.

Minister Awad highlighted the commitment to creating an attractive environment across various governorates to nurture talents and enhance cultural, creative, and educational activities for youth and children using the latest educational tools and technologies.

Dr. Jacqueline Azaar provided an overview of Edku International Park as a pioneering developmental project funded jointly by the European Union and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ). The park spans 10,500 square meters and serves as a comprehensive center for social, recreational, and cultural activities benefiting local residents.

The Governor noted that the park features green spaces, walking paths, recreational areas, seating zones, and a designated children’s area. The design incorporates sustainable environmental solutions such as energy-efficient LED lighting and smart irrigation systems to conserve natural resources and mitigate environmental impacts.

Dr. Azaar also mentioned that summer activities began at Edku International Park three weeks ago and will continue throughout this summer season with plans to expand these initiatives in subsequent years. The governorate is organizing these events in coordination with various ministry directorates.

The launch of artistic, cultural, and technological activities aims to discover talents and refine creative abilities among children and youth through collaboration with experts across different fields to prepare a generation capable of innovation that meets contemporary demands.

The summer activities at the park include twelve diverse workshops organized by the Public Library of Egypt in coordination with the Education Directorate. These workshops cover digital technologies, agriculture, crochet, beadwork, storytelling, chess, aluminum pressing, robotics, stenciling, interactive activities, clean energy ambassadors, mental arithmetic challenges, and reading competitions involving students along with supervisors and specialists.

Additionally, several sports activities will be held at the park in collaboration with the Youth and Sports Directorate. These include training sessions and demonstrations by a Kung Fu team comprising 20 players along with their coach and a Karate team featuring 14 players along with their coach to support athletic talents among youth while promoting physical fitness.

The Governor confirmed that transforming Edku International Park into a comprehensive community center for cultural, artistic, educational, and sports activities provides an attractive environment for local youth to develop their skills while positively utilizing their free time.

During his visit to the park’s workshops—covering agriculture practices, handicrafts, chess games, interactive activities on clean energy initiatives—and aluminum pressing exercises—Prime Minister Madbouly expressed interest in various training sessions including robotics. He listened attentively to trainees explaining their projects while acquiring skills such as coding and programming. He also visited a mobile library along with art workshops where he engaged with students regarding their learning experiences.

Students participating in the art workshop reported significant skill development over just two weeks including drawing techniques using various tools on papyrus paper; they expressed gratitude towards those managing Edku Park for supporting their talents through cultural events they enjoy.

The Prime Minister also visited crochet workshops where students shared their progress in creating clothing items such as bags alongside bead accessory-making classes designed to equip trainees with essential crafting skills.

Moreover he toured storytelling workshops which involve narrating tales reflecting Edku’s history geography culture while fostering themes promoting citizenship; one story was authored by an Edku writer who received a state encouragement award highlighting pride in her heritage.

Additionally he inspected reading challenge sessions led by an educator recognized nationally through winning top honors within Egypt’s reading initiative which holds a prize worth one million Egyptian pounds along with authoring seventeen books ten focused on children’s literature. Students reported gaining valuable skills related to Arabic literacy through reading notable works from esteemed authors preparing them for upcoming literary competitions including national reading initiatives as well as Arab reading challenges.

At the conclusion of his tour at Edku International Park he posed for commemorative photographs alongside students participating across various workshops.
