Argentina Adjusts Roster Before World Cup Clash Against Algeria
Lionel Scaloni, the head coach of the Argentina national team, has announced a change to the final roster for the 2026 World Cup, set to take place in Mexico, Canada, and the United States. The adjustment follows the injury of defender Leonardo Balerdi, who has been ruled out of the tournament.
In response to Balerdi’s absence, Marcos Senesi has been called up to join the squad. He is expected to arrive at the team’s training camp in Kansas, United States, within the next few hours as Argentina prepares for its opening match against Algeria.
According to FIFA regulations, Senesi will wear jersey number 2, previously assigned to Balerdi before his injury.
Argentina will compete in Group D alongside Algeria, Jordan, and Australia, with strong ambitions to defend their title hopes in the tournament.
