Mexico Secures 2-0 Victory Over South Africa in World Cup 2026 Opener

Mexico took the lead early in the ninth minute when Julián Quiñones scored with a powerful shot, capitalizing on a defensive error from the South African side.
Later, in the 67th minute, Mexico doubled its advantage with a well-placed cross from Roberto Alvarado. Raúl Jiménez met the ball with a strong header that found the back of the net, solidifying Mexico’s lead.
