FC Barcelona has officially submitted a bid to the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) to host the UEFA Champions League final in 2029.

The club announced in a statement on its official website that it has prepared a comprehensive bid in collaboration with the Barcelona City Council and the Catalan Government, supported by the Royal Spanish Football Federation as the organizing body, to compete for hosting this prestigious continental event.

The statement highlighted that the bid includes all technical, contractual, and institutional requirements mandated by UEFA, along with necessary guarantees confirming that Camp Nou stadium and the city of Barcelona can successfully organize such large-scale sporting events.

Additionally, the club noted that submitting this bid marks the end of the official nomination phase, after which UEFA will begin evaluating the proposals to select the venue for the final match in 2029.

The bid underscores Barcelona’s extensive experience in hosting international events, alongside the comprehensive renovations currently underway at Camp Nou, which will position it among the most modern and advanced stadiums globally.

The statement also confirmed that Camp Nou meets all required standards for hosting the final, particularly as it is recognized as the largest stadium in Europe by capacity and classified by UEFA as a historic venue of distinction.

UEFA is expected to announce its final decision in the last quarter of this year, amid competition from several other European cities vying for hosting rights to the final match.
