Foreign Minister Emphasizes Commitment to Strengthening Communication with Parliament

Dr. egypt-affirms-support-for-eritreas-sovereignty-and-territorial-integrity/">Badr Abdel-Aty, Egypt’s Foreign Minister for International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad, met today, Wednesday, with Counselor Hani Hana, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs. The discussion focused on enhancing cooperation and coordination between the two ministries to support Egypt’s national priorities and promote integration between the institutions.
During the meeting, Abdel-Aty emphasized the importance that the Foreign Ministry places on close cooperation with both the House of Representatives and the Senate. He highlighted the need for continuous communication with various parliamentarians and committees to strengthen ties between the executive and legislative branches.
He also reviewed the efforts made by the Foreign Ministry in parliamentary diplomacy, including support for external parliamentary initiatives and enhancing communication with parliaments in various countries. These efforts aim to serve Egyptian national interests and clarify Egypt’s positions on various regional and international issues, especially amid current regional challenges.
In turn, Counselor Hani Hana praised the role played by the Foreign Ministry in supporting parliamentary diplomacy and enhancing Egypt’s presence in international forums. He reaffirmed his ministry’s commitment to ongoing cooperation and coordination with the Foreign Ministry to support national priorities, strengthen communication between the executive and legislative branches, and unify national messages regarding various issues of mutual interest.
He underscored the importance of continuous coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in light of the close relationship between diplomatic work and parliamentary initiatives at both regional and international levels.
The two ministers agreed on the necessity of continuing existing coordination between their ministries and working together, given that the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs serves as a vital link between legislative and executive authorities, thereby enhancing institutional cooperation and supporting decision-making processes.
