Mohsen: Joining Zamalek Would Be an Honor Amid World Cup Exclusion
Mohamed Mohsen, a prominent player for Al-Masry SC, expressed his openness to a potential transfer to Zamalek during the upcoming summer transfer window.
In an interview with Sihem Saleh on the “Classico” program, Mohsen stated, “I have matured significantly; I am now completely different from who I was before.”.
He further remarked on his exclusion from the national team during the World Cup qualifiers, saying, “They kept telling me I was the captain of the national team until I was left out of the squad for the World Cup.”.
Mohsen emphasized that transferring to Zamalek would be an honor for any player, adding, “Why not? It would be an honor to play for Zamalek; I would not mind joining the club.”.
Reflecting on his time at Al Ahly, he noted, “Look at where Salah Mohsen is now compared to where I was. I didn’t get my chance at Al Ahly and only played three consecutive matches.”.
He continued, “No player from Al Ahly has gone on two or three loan spells and returned. I went out and came back. At Al Ahly, I played one match and then sat out for a year. Naturally, I wasn’t in top form; that’s just my nature—I tend to keep to myself and not speak much; that’s who I am.”.
Mohsen concluded by stating that if he could turn back time, he would fully commit to his career: “If years could go back, I would put both feet in. Senior players at Al Ahly tell me that I must return because there are no strikers available.”.
