Written byNoha El Shafie

Dr. Ahmed El-Ansari, the Governor of Giza, inaugurated the Boulaq El-Dakrour market for ready-made clothing located on Al-Masaken Street in the Kafr Tahmas area of Boulaq El-Dakrour district.

The governor stated that the market consists of 30 fully equipped shops, complete with lighting, surveillance systems, and restrooms. This initiative is part of the governorate’s plan to eliminate street vendors and informal gatherings selling clothing while providing organized and legal outlets for vendors to sell their products.

El-Ansari noted that this market represents the first phase of relocating vendors from Al-Arish and Diaa Streets, successfully clearing these areas and restoring full traffic flow.

Currently, 93 vendors have been assigned spaces within the market, which also features designated areas with awnings for displaying products to customers.

During his tour of the market stalls, the governor congratulated the vendors on their new assignments, emphasizing the importance of seizing this opportunity and collaborating with local authorities to transform the market into a specialized commercial center for clothing. He highlighted its advantageous location in one of the most densely populated districts in Giza, close to Al-Haram and Talbiya neighborhoods as well as major traffic arteries.

The governor instructed the head of Boulaq El-Dakrour district to conduct regular follow-ups to ensure vendors are able to display their products effectively while intensifying marketing efforts for the market’s activities throughout Boulaq El-Dakrour and on Al-Arish and Diaa Streets to inform residents about its services.

He also called for coordination with the General Authority for Cleaning and Beautification to enhance the area around the market, prevent encroachments, and ensure that vendors adhere to designated spaces while regularly removing waste.

The vendors expressed their gratitude to the Giza Governor for enabling them to operate in a stable and permanent environment, pledging their support for efforts aimed at enhancing commercial activity and attracting customers to the market.

The market offers residents of Boulaq El-Dakrour and surrounding areas a comprehensive shopping experience for various types of ready-made clothing for men, women, and children, as well as accessories and travel bags.

Accompanying the governor during the opening were Hind Abdel Halim, Deputy Governor; Mohamed Marei, Assistant Secretary General; Wael Shaaban, Head of Central Administration for Governor’s Office Affairs; Ayman Khalil, Head of Giza City; Taha Abdel Sadiq, Head of Boulaq El-Dakrour District; Hamid Salama, Head of Talbiya District; Ahmed Thabet, Head of Al-Haram District; Mohamed Al-Dabaiey, Head of General Authority for Cleaning and Beautification; and Mohamed Hosni, Head of Field Inspection and Follow-up Agency.
