The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, recently hosted the “Forum des Pionniers” (Forum of Pioneers) in Cairo, Luxor, and Aswan. The event attracted approximately 130 prominent tour operators, travel agents, and representatives from French tourism companies.
As one of the key annual professional events in the French tourism market, the forum is organized under the auspices of Travel Insight, Travel Evasion, and the French school ESCAET. It gathers a select group of decision-makers, experts, and professionals from the French tourism sector to enhance international tourism partnerships and explore new avenues for collaboration between Egypt’s tourist destinations and French partners.
During their visit to the Giza Pyramids, Dr. Ahmed Youssef, CEO of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, met with participants from the forum. He emphasized the authority’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with major French companies in the tourism sector to increase tourist traffic from France to Egypt. This market is considered one of the most significant European sources of tourists visiting Egypt.
The authority also participated in a professional workshop held in Luxor. The delegation included Emad Fathy, Head of Central Administration for Tourist Offices; Hiyam Farouk, Director of Western Europe Unit; and Marian Helmy, Market Officer for France and Benelux countries. They held several meetings with forum participants to discuss future collaboration opportunities and strengthen business relations with industry partners in France.
Throughout the program, attendees visited several prominent tourist and archaeological sites in Cairo, Luxor, and Aswan, including the Giza Pyramids area, the Grand Egyptian Museum, Habu Temple, and the Valley of Kings in Luxor. This provided them with an opportunity to closely experience Egypt’s diverse and unique cultural and tourism offerings.
Participants expressed their appreciation for organizing the forum in Egypt, noting that this visit provided a unique opportunity to discover Egypt’s tourist destinations firsthand and learn about recent developments in its tourism sector while enhancing their professional relationships with Egyptian tourism partners.
