EU Foreign Affairs Chief Commends Egypt’s Role in Regional De-escalation

Badr Abdel Aaty, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, recently held a phone conversation with “Kaja Kallas,” the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. This discussion was part of their regular consultations regarding regional developments.
During the call, both sides exchanged views and assessments on the trajectory of U.S.-Iran negotiations, as well as recent alarming developments and their implications for the negotiation process.
Minister Abdel Aaty updated the European official on Egypt’s ongoing efforts aimed at de-escalation in coordination with regional partners. He emphasized the importance of adhering to diplomatic channels to ensure the security and stability of the region and its peoples.
In response, Kallas praised Egypt’s role in supporting efforts to reduce regional tensions and expedite an agreement between the U.S. and Iran. She expressed hope for continued coordination and consultation in the upcoming period within the framework of the strategic and comprehensive partnership between Egypt and the European Union.
