Bayern Munich Hesitant to Finalize Marcus Rashford Transfer from Manchester United

Written byFerdous Saeed

Bayern Munich is reportedly showing a lack of enthusiasm in finalizing a transfer for Marcus Rashford, the forward from Manchester United.

The England international is currently focused on representing his country at the World Cup while his club future remains uncertain.

Despite having the option to secure a £26 million permanent transfer for last season’s loanee, Barcelona has not yet acted on this opportunity.

Although there is a possibility of Rashford rejoining Michael Carrick’s first-team squad at Old Trafford, the 28-year-old is expected to attract interest from other clubs.

According to The Sun, Bayern Munich is among the European giants considering their options regarding Rashford.

Bayern Munich’s Mixed Feelings on Rashford Transfer

The report suggests that Bayern would be willing to meet Manchester United’s valuation of £34.5 million for Rashford. However, there is hesitation regarding the player’s wage demands, which exceed £300,000 per week.

This reluctance stems from the perception that Rashford may not be a regular starter under Vincent Kompany.

Theoretically, Rashford could serve as an alternative to Nicolas Jackson, who has returned to Chelsea after being viewed as a backup to Harry Kane.

Bayern also considers Rashford a potential left-wing option, but again without any guarantee of securing a starting position.

Rashford’s Future in Uncertainty This Summer

With 14 goals and 14 assists from 49 appearances for Barcelona, Rashford continues to be highly regarded by clubs in both the Premier League and Europe.

Nonetheless, his wage expectations could pose significant challenges unless Manchester United is willing to subsidize part of his salary for the remaining two years of his contract.

From Manchester United’s perspective, selling a homegrown talent for over £30 million could be beneficial.

A compromise may need to be reached if Rashford is to leave Old Trafford permanently; otherwise, a season-long loan later in the summer transfer window might become the most feasible outcome.
