Mohamed Shahat Shares Heartfelt Memories of His Father’s Passing
Mohamed Shahat, a player for the first football team of Zamalek SC, has shared poignant details about the night his father passed away just weeks ago. This occurred while Shahat was with the team for the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup final.
In a heartfelt message posted on his official Instagram account’s story feature, Shahat expressed his deep sorrow over the loss of his father, emphasizing that night as the most challenging of his life.
He stated, “The night my father passed away… was the hardest night I have ever experienced.”.
Shahat continued, “I kept looking at his pictures with tears in my eyes, unable to comprehend that the face that illuminated my life is now just a picture in front of me.”.
He reflected further, saying, “I kept telling myself: Is it really true that I won’t see you again? Will I spend the rest of my life without you? I wished all this was just a bad dream from which I could wake up.”.
Shahat added, “But the reality was harsher… My father is gone, leaving a void that will never be filled.”.
The Zamalek player expressed his longing by saying, “I miss your voice, your words, your presence in every detail of my life. Since you left, nothing has been the same; everything feels incomplete without you.”.
He concluded with a touching tribute: “May God have mercy on you, my father. May He forgive you and make your grave a garden from the gardens of Paradise. May He reunite us in the highest Paradise.”.
It is worth noting that Zamalek lost the CAF Confederation Cup title to Algeria’s CR Belouizdad after both legs ended in a draw on aggregate. The title was ultimately decided by penalty shootouts, with Belouizdad winning 8-7.
