Sixth Arab Tennis Championship for Seniors Kicks Off in Sharm El Sheikh
Sharm El Sheikh – Ahly Online – The sixth edition of the Arab Tennis Championship for seniors has commenced in Sharm El Sheikh, organized by the Arab Tennis Federation under the leadership of Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber, in collaboration with the Egyptian Tennis Federation. The tournament is sponsored by Kuwait Airways and features 60 players representing 11 Arab countries, including Kuwait.
Ali Al-Mutairi, Secretary General of the Arab Tennis Federation, expressed his happiness with the strong turnout for this edition, describing the championship as a significant Arab sporting and friendly gathering that reflects the strength and status of senior tennis in the Arab world.
During the draw ceremony for the tournament, Al-Mutairi noted that the Arab Tennis Federation places special emphasis on senior competitions due to their considerable sporting and social value. He praised the exceptional organization by Egypt and the preparations leading up to the start of the competitions, expecting that the tournament will achieve both technical and organizational success, enhancing its status within the agenda of the Arab Tennis Federation.
Al-Mutairi highlighted that despite various challenges and circumstances in the region, the federation insisted on continuing its activities and organizing this championship. He emphasized that the impressive participation from players is a testament to credibility and mutual cooperation among all parties involved, ensuring adherence to the federation’s schedule.
The secretary general confirmed that the Arab Federation is committed to ensuring success across all tournaments it organizes, whether for seniors or youth categories or elite competitions. He extended his gratitude to all partners involved in making this event successful, particularly thanking Kuwait Airways for its sponsorship and acknowledging the Egyptian Tennis Federation for its outstanding organization.
Meanwhile, Walid Sami, Secretary General of both Arab and Egyptian Tennis Federations, welcomed all participants, affirming that Egypt’s hosting of this distinguished Arab event reflects its strong reputation within the Arab tennis community. He noted that all organizational arrangements are being conducted according to high standards to ensure a prestigious tournament.
Sami added that this championship represents more than just sporting competitions; it serves as an opportunity to strengthen fraternal ties among Arab players. The wide participation from 11 Arab countries demonstrates the ongoing success of this tournament year after year.
