The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation has announced the ongoing efforts of the national campaign to vaccinate livestock against foot-and-mouth disease and Rift Valley fever. The General Authority for Veterinary Services reported that a total of 6,824,769 vaccine doses have been administered across villages and centers nationwide to protect livestock from these diseases.
According to an official report received by Minister Alaa Farouk from Dr. Hamid Al-Aqnas, head of the General Authority for Veterinary Services, 3,664,026 livestock have been vaccinated against foot-and-mouth disease, while 3,160,743 animals have received vaccinations for Rift Valley fever. The vaccination campaign continues alongside awareness and guidance initiatives in various governorates.
Dr. Al-Aqnas emphasized that approved veterinary vaccines have been made available, with full technical support provided to veterinary teams to ensure vaccination services reach all farmers in different villages and hamlets, particularly in high-demand and border areas. He noted that the national campaign is part of the government’s plan to safeguard livestock resources and stressed the importance of farmer cooperation with veterinary committees by reporting any suspected cases to enhance disease prevention efforts.

The General Authority for Veterinary Services urges all farmers to continue cooperating with veterinary committees by allowing periodic vaccinations and data registration to maintain animal health, enhance productivity, and support government efforts in developing the livestock sector. Farmers can also contact the authority’s hotline at 19561 for inquiries or to report any suspected cases.
This initiative aligns with Minister Alaa Farouk’s directives on intensifying preventive measures to protect livestock from epidemic diseases, contributing to food security and sustainable development. Field vaccination teams are efficiently carrying out the campaign across all governorates.
