Egypt’s Sports Minister Highlights Investment Impact on Football Development
Jawhar Nabil, Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports, emphasized that investment has become a cornerstone in the development of Egyptian sports in recent years, praising the private sector’s role in supporting and elevating the standards of sports competitions.
During his speech at the conference announcing the new sponsor for the Egyptian league, Nabil noted that collaboration between state institutions and national companies has led to positive advancements that have contributed to the league’s development in recent seasons.
He pointed out that the current state of Egyptian football reflects the importance of partnerships between the state and private sector, asserting that this model has proven its capability to bring about genuine improvements in various organizational and marketing aspects.
Nabil added that securing a new sponsor will provide a significant boost to the Egyptian league in the upcoming phase, expressing hope that this will enhance competition levels and the overall presentation of the tournament.
The Minister stated that expectations have risen significantly following this new agreement, highlighting that having supportive national companies is a crucial element in the development journey.
Additionally, he expressed optimism regarding Egypt’s national team showcasing impressive performances at the upcoming 2026 World Cup, wishing for positive results that would delight Egyptian fans.
Ahead of the new season, Ahmed Diab, President of the Egyptian Professional Clubs Association, announced that the team winning next season’s league title will receive a financial reward of 50 million EGP. He also mentioned that 40 million EGP will be allocated to support popular clubs, with competitions set to commence in August.
