Helmy Tolan Criticizes Zamalek Management Over Ongoing Registration Issues

Written byFerdous Saeed

Helmy Tolan, a former star of Zamalek, has launched a scathing attack on the club’s management due to the ongoing crises affecting the team.

Currently, Zamalek is grappling with registration issues after FIFA imposed a ban for the 17th time over unpaid dues to former coach Ferreira’s assistant, amounting to $60,000.

In exclusive comments to Al-Aweek, Tolan expressed his disappointment with the situation at Zamalek, stating that no one should accept the current state of such a prestigious club.

Tolan further criticized the current board, labeling them as “ineffective” and highlighting their lack of tangible achievements. He asserted that if it weren’t for Mounir Abbas, Zamalek might have faced closure.

Continuing his critique of the club’s officials, Tolan remarked that the current administration is hindering progress and has played no role in securing Zamalek’s league title, attributing the success solely to the fans, whom he described as the greatest in the world.

Tolan urged the Zamalek board to resign, stating: “If you are not capable of handling this responsibility, I hope you step down. I wish for Mounir Abbas to take charge alongside Amr El-Ganaini and engineer Mahmoud El-Gamal, as Zamalek’s issues are fundamentally administrative.”.
