Mikaili Praises Imam Ashour’s Talent and Discusses Zizo’s Move to Al Ahly
Rogério Mikali, the former head coach of the Egyptian Olympic team, expressed confidence in the ability of several players from the Egyptian national team to deliver outstanding performances in the near future. He praised the talents of many athletes while discussing Egypt’s prospects against Brazil.
In statements made on the “Number One” program hosted by journalist Mohamed Shabana on CBC, Mikali highlighted players such as Omar Marmoush and Mohamed Salah, stating, “They are influential players in the Egyptian national team and can make a difference in any match.”.
The Brazilian coach commended Imam Ashour, saying, “Imam Ashour is a talented and wonderful player with a lot of creativity. I also really like Egypt’s midfield for its innovation and control over play areas.”.
Mikali addressed the absence of Mostafa Mohamed, emphasizing, “Mostafa Mohamed is a good and distinguished player, and Egypt will miss him during the World Cup.”.
He also praised Ahmed Sayed “Zizo,” stating, “Zizo is excellent at moving along the flanks and between lines, penetrating the penalty area. I have seen how much the fans love him. His move to Al Ahly was a difficult decision for him; however, he definitely chose what he believes is best for himself and his family.”.
Regarding rising talent Hamza Abdel Karim, Mikali remarked, “Having a player like Hamza Abdel Karim is extremely positive. I believe he will become a significant star in Egyptian football, but we must handle him carefully while also instilling confidence in him so that he continues to develop. I trust Hossam Hassan knows how to manage him appropriately.”.
Mikali added, “Ibrahim Adel is a fantastic player with great skills. I also appreciate the playing style of Hossam Abdel Meguid and Mohamed Shahat.”.
The discussion turned to player Juan Bezerra as well. Mikali stated, “I didn’t know Juan Bezerra before his transfer to Zamalek, but he has shown good character and responsibility in tough matches. However, it will be challenging for him to join Brazil’s national team given that there are players in his position performing at higher levels in major European clubs.”.
The Brazilian coach praised his compatriot Carlo Ancelotti, asserting that “Ancelotti is undoubtedly one of the best coaches in the world, and his leadership of Brazil will be a significant asset to the team.”.
Mikali concluded his remarks by saying, “I hope that the match between Egypt and Brazil ends in a 2-2 draw because I love Egypt very much and always wish it success.”.
