Mourinho Reveals Departure List for Real Madrid as He Plans Future
Spanish media reports have unveiled the outlines of the project that Portuguese coach José Mourinho is planning for Real Madrid, coinciding with increasing rumors about his imminent return to the club at the start of next season.
According to journalist Sergio Valentin, Mourinho has already begun to formulate a comprehensive vision for the team’s future, which includes several players he does not see fitting into his plans, alongside a list of potential signings aimed at strengthening the squad.
Reports indicate that Real Madrid’s management has decided to entrust Mourinho with the coaching role following a disappointing season marked by poor results and an exit from all competitions without securing any titles.
Former player Álvaro Arbeloa temporarily took over coaching duties after Xabi Alonso’s departure in January, but the team struggled to regain its balance for the remainder of the season amid a series of negative outcomes and issues within the locker room.
As detailed by Valentin, Mourinho has identified several players who are not part of his future plans, including Marco Asensio, Fran García, Dani Ceballos, Eduardo Camavinga, Franco Mastantuono, and Brazilian Rodrygo.
On the other hand, the Portuguese coach has pinpointed key targets for team reinforcement. Leading this list is Dutch player Denzel Dumfries, who is reported to be close to joining Real Madrid. French defender Ibrahima Konaté has also been linked with a move to the club.
Additionally, Italian Riccardo Calafiori from Arsenal has emerged as a new target due to his versatility in playing multiple defensive positions, both as a left-back and center-back.
Mourinho’s demands do not stop there; he has expressed interest in acquiring Portuguese Bernardo Silva despite strong competition for his signature. He also included Matheus Fernandes among the names he wishes to add to his future lineup.
Conversely, Mourinho considers Federico Valverde and Jude Bellingham as cornerstones of his new project, viewing them as indispensable assets under any circumstances.
