Egypt’s Foreign Minister Engages with Egyptian Community in Japan

Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met with members of the Egyptian community in Japan on Wednesday during his visit to Tokyo. The meeting was attended by Raagi El-Ateby, Egypt’s Ambassador to Japan.
During the meeting, Minister Abdel Aty expressed his pride in the role played by the Egyptian community in Japan in enhancing communication between the two countries and supporting bilateral relations across various sectors. He emphasized that Egyptians abroad are a fundamental pillar of Egypt’s soft power and serve as ambassadors for their homeland worldwide.
The minister noted that regular communication with Egyptian communities abroad is part of a consistent approach adopted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs aimed at providing the utmost care and attention to Egyptians living overseas, ensuring they receive necessary consular services. This initiative aligns with directives from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to fully support Egyptians abroad and strengthen their connection to their homeland.
Minister Abdel Aty also outlined the ministry’s efforts to enhance consular services and promote digital transformation, facilitating citizens’ access to various services while improving their quality and efficiency. He discussed initiatives launched in collaboration with relevant state institutions to meet the needs of Egyptians abroad and enhance their benefits from available services.
Additionally, he listened to feedback and suggestions from members of the Egyptian community on various topics, reaffirming the ministry’s commitment to continuously improve communication mechanisms and respond to their needs and aspirations.
The minister expressed his anticipation for participation from members of the Egyptian community in Japan at the upcoming “Conference for Egyptians Abroad,” scheduled for August 2-3, 2026. He highlighted the success achieved by the sixth edition of the conference in fostering direct dialogue between Egyptians abroad and Egyptian state institutions.
