No Resignation from Egypt’s Supreme Hajj and Umrah Committee, Sources Confirm

Written byNoha El Shafie

A source has denied reports regarding the resignation of any member from the Supreme Hajj and Umrah Committee, dismissing claims that a member of the Chamber of Tourism Companies and Travel had stepped down amid the current Hajj season.

The source emphasized that these rumors are unfounded, asserting that the committee continues its work as usual, with all members actively fulfilling their roles and overseeing Hajj and Umrah matters without any changes.

Currently, the committee is focused on facilitating the return of Egyptian pilgrims from the holy sites and monitoring their conditions until the last pilgrim arrives back home. This effort is part of a comprehensive operational framework implemented by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities in collaboration with relevant authorities.

The source noted that this year’s Hajj season has seen ongoing field monitoring by various committees from the Egyptian mission. Additionally, Egypt’s tourism Hajj system achieved significant success, highlighted by receiving the “Silver Labeeb Award” for the first time, reflecting the extensive efforts made by all parties involved in organizing this season.

Moreover, any observations or challenges arising during the season will be addressed and reviewed through official channels to ensure continuous improvement in Egypt’s tourism Hajj system and enhance services provided to Egyptian pilgrims.

The Supreme Hajj and Umrah Committee will continue to evaluate this year’s season and incorporate feedback and suggestions to strengthen positive aspects while addressing any future challenges, aiming to provide the best possible service to pilgrims.
