Dr. Salah Suleiman Jumblat, Egypt’s Minister of Military Production, presented the draft budget for the National Organization for Military Production for the fiscal year 2026/2027 to the Planning and Budget Committee of the House of Representatives, chaired by Dr. Mohamed Suleiman. This presentation was part of discussions regarding the organization’s objectives and plans for the upcoming phase.

The minister emphasized that the new budget aligns with directives from political leadership aimed at supporting national industry and enhancing reliance on modern technology. He noted that it includes comprehensive investment plans to develop affiliated companies and units, update production lines, and localize advanced technologies, which will contribute to increasing productivity and providing new products that meet local market needs.

Jumblat outlined that the planned budget for 2026/2027 is based on a forward-looking vision focused on two main pillars. The first is fulfilling the primary mission of the Ministry of Military Production to efficiently meet the armed forces’ needs for various weapons, ammunition, and military equipment. He pointed out that the ministry aims to boost export rates of military production products to foreign markets, which will help secure foreign currency and support the national economy. The ministry is targeting greater growth in exports over the coming years.

The second pillar involves expanding partnerships and cooperation with local and global private sectors to support national efforts in executing developmental projects and maximizing benefits from available industrial capabilities.

Furthermore, Jumblat highlighted that enhancing manufacturing capabilities within its affiliated companies remains a top priority for the ministry. This includes improving services and products offered to citizens while also advancing efforts to localize modern technology, transfer advanced industrial expertise, and incorporate artificial intelligence techniques into various manufacturing processes. These steps align with the state’s strategy to achieve sustainable development and deepen local manufacturing.

The minister commended the supportive role played by the Planning and Budget Committee in assisting developmental reforms undertaken by the organization, stressing the importance of continued coordination and collaboration to achieve desired goals and enhance the contribution of military production to the national economy.
