Meet the Official Mascots of the 2026 World Cup: Maple, Zayu, and Clutch
As the countdown to the 2026 World Cup begins, excitement builds as 48 nations prepare for the tournament hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. This event marks a historic occasion as it will be the first World Cup co-hosted by three countries and the first since 2002 featuring multiple hosts.
Since its inception in 1930, the World Cup has been held every four years. However, official mascots were introduced in 1966 during England’s victorious year when Willie the Lion set a precedent that subsequent host nations have embraced.
With three nations involved in this year’s tournament, each country has introduced its own mascot to represent their culture and spirit. But what exactly do these mascots signify?
Traditionally, World Cup mascots embody the culture and heritage of their respective host nations, serving as festive symbols that welcome fans from around the globe while capturing the joy of football’s biggest stage.
Here’s a closer look at the official mascots for the 2026 World Cup:.
