Ibrahim Hassan Praises Mohamed Hany Ahead of World Cup 2026
Ibrahim Hassan, the manager of Egypt’s national football team, has praised the skills of Mohamed Hany, the Pharaohs’ right-back, as they prepare for the 2026 World Cup.
Egypt will compete in the 2026 World Cup, which will be held across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, featuring a total of 48 teams for the first time in the tournament’s history.
The draw for the World Cup, conducted at the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., placed Egypt in Group G alongside Belgium, New Zealand, and Iran.
In remarks to ON Sport, Ibrahim Hassan stated: “Mohamed Hany is an incredible player. He is very smart and works hard. He competes against many players both locally and internationally. His focus is high, his character is very intelligent, and he has significant experience. We trust him against any player.”.
He added: “Hany won’t be alone on the field; for instance, if he faces Vinícius Júnior without my teammate or a midfielder supporting him, he won’t succeed alone—similar to how Islam Issa performed in previous friendlies.”.
Hassan continued: “I try to support my teammates. Some players need assistance. Hany alone against a top player like Doku or Vinícius requires close support. We have confidence in him and all our players; anyone who plays will have our trust.”.
The manager expressed optimism about Hany’s potential contributions: “If God wills and Hany starts the match, we wish him success. All top players like Doku and Vinícius are a threat; we do not fear anyone.”.
He remarked: “We have entered a new level by playing against big teams like Spain, Brazil, and Russia; all teams are competing fiercely.”.
In conclusion, Ibrahim Hassan emphasized that results help prepare for tournaments: “We need to be present at official events; this is our goal during this period.”.
