Surgical Procedure.
A specialized medical team at Asyut University Hospitals successfully saved the life of a 14-year-old boy who sustained a severe injury after falling from a height, which resulted in a metal rod penetrating his chest and causing complex and critical injuries.
The medical team responded urgently at the Trauma and Emergency Hospital, where examinations revealed significant bleeding, laceration of the left lung, multiple rib fractures, and severe damage to the chest wall. This necessitated precise surgical intervention to save the patient’s life.
The surgical team was able to control the bleeding, repair the lung damage, stabilize the fractures, and reconstruct the chest wall using advanced surgical techniques. The procedure was closely monitored by anesthesia and intensive care teams, leading to a marked improvement in the patient’s condition.
This success reflects the competence of medical staff at Asyut University Hospitals and their readiness to handle complex and critical cases, reinforcing their role in providing advanced medical services to residents of Upper Egypt and neighboring governorates according to the highest quality standards.
