Egypt’s Ambassador to Canada Welcomes National Team Ahead of New Zealand Match
Ahmed Hafez, Egypt’s Ambassador to Canada, welcomed the Egyptian national football team upon their arrival in Vancouver, preparing for their upcoming match against New Zealand in the second round of the group stage at the 2026 World Cup.
The Pharaohs’ delegation, led by the coaching staff including head coach Hossam Hassan and team manager Ibrahim Hassan, arrived with a spirit of enthusiasm and focus ahead of the highly anticipated match.
After reaching their accommodation, Khaled El-Darandly, Vice President of the Egyptian Football Association and head of the national team delegation at the World Cup, held a meeting with the ambassador, attended by Mustafa Abu Zahra, Deputy Head of the delegation. They discussed arrangements regarding the team’s stay and ensuring all necessary support during their time in Canada.
The Egyptian team continues its intense preparations for the match against New Zealand, which represents a crucial point in their journey within Group G. The coaching staff and players are determined to achieve a positive result that will enhance their chances of advancing to the next stage of the tournament.
