Written byFerdous Saeed

Yassine Bounou, the goalkeeper for Morocco’s national football team, continues to make history at the World Cup after leading his country to a victory over Scotland in the tournament being held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The Moroccan team secured a valuable win against Scotland with a score of 1-0 in a match held this Saturday morning at Gillette Stadium in Boston, as part of the second round of the group stage in the 2026 World Cup.

Following the match against Scotland, Bounou achieved an impressive milestone by keeping a clean sheet for the fourth consecutive game in his World Cup career.

This accomplishment places Bounou at the top of the list for African goalkeepers with the most clean sheets in World Cup history, surpassing several notable legends from the continent.

The Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal goalkeeper has now recorded four matches without conceding a goal in the tournament, ahead of Nigeria’s Peter Rufai, Cameroon’s Thomas N’Kono, and Nigeria’s Vincent Enyeama, who each have three clean sheets.
